Fisker Unveils “Ronin”: An Electric Convertible Boasting a Remarkable 600-Mile Range to Challenge Tesla Roadster

Fisker Inc. has recently revealed its upcoming electric car, the “Ronin,” a sleek electric convertible aimed at competing with the Tesla Roadster, provided it can secure the necessary resources to bring the vehicle to market.

The Ronin, showcased as the company’s latest prototype, shares some design elements with the previously unveiled Fisker EMotion, which was set aside in favor of the Ocean electric SUV. While the Ocean initially captured attention with the promise of a $35,000 price tag, the current production model comes at a higher cost, leading to financial challenges for the automaker.

The Ronin, presented as “the world’s first four-door electric convertible” by Henrik Fisker, the CEO of the EV startup, boasts an impressive projected range of 600 miles. Although the rear doors, featuring small butterfly doors, might limit the “four-door” claim, the vehicle is said to accommodate up to five passengers.

Fisker aims to position the Ronin as a supercar with blistering acceleration, targeting a 0 to 60 mph speed in approximately two seconds and boasting an estimated 1,000 horsepower. The company has set its sights on challenging Tesla’s Roadster, provided it becomes available on the market.

During the “Fisker Product Vision Day 2023” event, Henrik Fisker refrained from direct mentions of Tesla while discussing the Ronin’s innovative battery technology. The company intends to integrate battery cells into the structure of the car’s body, aiming to achieve the impressive 600-mile range. Although Fisker’s approach seems distinct from Tesla’s 4680 cell and structural battery pack, some similarities remain.

Despite the ambitious plans, the Ronin’s technology appears to be in early stages, with a targeted release date of late 2025. Pricing details have not been disclosed, but industry observers anticipate a six-figure cost for the high-performance electric convertible.

As Fisker pushes ahead with the Ronin, EV enthusiasts eagerly await more details on the car’s specifications and features. The EV market continues to evolve rapidly, and competition between automakers is intensifying as they strive to redefine the future of electric mobility.
