Israeli startup EVR Motors has inaugurated its inaugural factory in India dedicated to manufacturing electric motor coils, marking a significant milestone as the first Israeli automotive company to establish a manufacturing presence in the country.

Situated in Manesar, a bustling industrial hub in Haryana, EVR Motors’ new plant represents a strategic move to tap into India’s burgeoning automotive sector. The facility is poised to produce trapezoidal geometry coils for approximately 20,000 electric motors per month, with plans for future expansion to accommodate production levels for up to 100,000 electric motors.

These trapezoidal geometry coils are integral to EVR Motors’ Trapezoidal Stator Radial Flux Permanent Magnet (RFPM) motor, a groundbreaking technology unveiled by the company in 2021. By leveraging RFPM technology, EVR Motors is able to manufacture electric motors that are not only smaller and lighter but also more cost-effective, with power outputs ranging from 6 kW to 150 kW. This versatility makes their motors suitable for a wide array of automotive applications, including two-wheelers, three-wheelers, passenger cars, commercial vehicles, and off-road vehicles.

EVR Motors has already secured contracts with major Indian OEMs to supply electric motors for various vehicles, including two-wheelers, three-wheelers, passenger cars, LCVs, buses, and boats. These motors, produced using coils from the Manesar facility, will cater to both domestic and international markets. Among the company’s key customers are Belrise Group, EKA Mobility, Napino, and RSB Transmissions.

Nick Rogers, Chairman of EVR Motors, emphasized the significance of the Manesar plant, stating, “The opening of our new manufacturing plant in Manesar marks a major milestone in EVR’s mission to transform electric mobility through pioneering motor technologies.” He added, “EVR India represents a cornerstone of our business model. By establishing our own production facility for these electric motor coils, we’re securing a critical component and ensuring a robust, stable supply chain for our customers.”

EVR Motors’ electric motors are available in both cost-effective air-cooled and longer-lasting liquid-cooled versions, offering customers flexibility based on their needs. Despite India’s predominantly hot climate, the cost-effectiveness of air-cooled motors makes them an attractive option for economy segments. Additionally, the motors are designed to operate at voltages ranging from 48 volts to 800 volts, providing customers with a wide range of options to suit various applications.
