German logistics provider Duvenbeck has signed an agreement with Geely’s commercial vehicle subsidiary, Farizon, to introduce the Homtruck electric truck into its European operations. Announced at the IAA Transportation event in Hanover, the partnership will see Duvenbeck incorporate 50 Homtruck electric trucks into its fleet starting next year, positioning the company as Farizonā€™s preferred logistics partner in Europe.

The Farizon Homtruck, first revealed in 2021, is an all-electric truck designed for long-distance transport. It offers multiple powertrain options, including a battery-electric version with a 500-kilometer range and variants equipped with a methanol fuel cell or range extender, which can extend the range up to 1,500 kilometers. Duvenbeck has opted for the battery-powered model, featuring a 600 kWh LFP battery and an electric drive system with a peak output of 2 x 289 kW.

Focus on Sustainable Logistics

The partnership aims to promote the use of battery-electric commercial vehicles within European logistics, contributing to more efficient and sustainable operations. The Homtruck is equipped with features such as Level 2+ driving assistants, real-time monitoring systems, and an interior designed for long-haul drivers, offering amenities like a mini bathroom and kitchen. The vehicle’s aerodynamic design also enhances efficiency, with a cW value of 0.343.

Duvenbeck and Farizon share a goal of advancing logistics solutions that prioritize sustainability and efficiency. Both companies see this collaboration as a step towards reducing emissions and supporting decarbonization efforts in the transport sector.

Farizonā€™s Expansion into Europe

This agreement marks a significant move for Farizon as it seeks to expand its presence in Europeā€™s logistics market. The Homtruck had previously been targeted primarily at international and Chinese markets, but this new partnership highlights the brandā€™s entry into the European market. Both Duvenbeck and Farizon are focused on creating logistics solutions that align with the growing demand for environmentally conscious transportation options in Europe.
