Dodge is gearing up to unveil the first all-new generation of the Charger since its debut almost 20 years ago, with teasers leading up to the event on March 5th hinting at significant changes for the iconic sedan.
The 2005 Charger made waves at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit when Dodge unveiled it by pulling a fake NASCAR shell off of it. Now, the automaker is preparing to reveal a new Charger that represents a dramatic shift from its predecessor in almost every way.

The outgoing model, dating back to 2005, featured underpinnings that were rooted in an older Mercedes-Benz platform, along with combustion engines including V6 and V8 options. The new Charger, however, will usher in a new era by dropping the HEMI engines and old platform, and in some forms, two of its doors.

Dodge’s first teaser for the new Charger is cryptic, featuring a stylized Dodge Brothers badge with two figures sitting in front of a fireplace. The caption reads, “Time will tell,” before lightning strikes, revealing a Fratzonic logo and the figures now standing next to the new Charger with its LED lights illuminated.
“The smoke will clear on March 05, 11:00 am est,” the teaser says, hinting at the official unveiling of the new vehicle. Dodge plans to release two more teaser trailers about the vehicle before the event.

While the teaser says nothing about the powerplant, speculation suggests that Dodge will unveil a pure electric version initially, with rumors of a gas-powered variant to follow. The STLA Large platform, upon which the Charger is built, is said to be capable of accommodating both hybrid and internal combustion engines, further fueling speculation about the future of the Charger lineup.
Additionally, images of the updated Charger suggest that all 2025 models will come with two doors. Whether Dodge plans to reveal a four-door sedan variant remains to be seen, with enthusiasts urged to tune in to dodge.com on March 5, 2024, at 11 a.m. ET to find out more.
