Citroen Ami, a tiny electric vehicle made by a French automotive manufacturer, is becoming widely known in mainland Europe. Now, the product is entering the British and American markets.
The debut of the Citroen Ami began in 2020. Until now, the car is increasingly being used in several mainland European countries as a mobility option.
In fact, in some countries, the use of a small and special Citroen Ami for medium-distance mobility, does not require a permit from the authorities. Citroen Ami’s treatment is similar to that of a bicycle.
This year, Citroen Ami is planned to enter the US and UK markets. In the United States, as quoted from electricvehicleweb.com, Citroen Ami will be marketed and used by the mobility company Free2Move, a Stellantis mobility service company.

The first Citroen Ami operation was Washington DC which is one of the few locations worldwide where Free2Move operates. The Citroen Ami is one of the few electric models in its fleet.
Previously, the Citroen Ami was exhibited at CES 2022 (Consumer Electronics Show 2022), in January 2021 in Las Vegas. With over 14,000 users in Europe since mid-2020, Ami is building its reputation as a low-cost solution for individual use and reducing carbon footprint.
Meanwhile, Citroen Ami’s customer interest in the UK is increasing. Seeing the encouraging response for the Ami in the UK, Citroen has decided to go ahead with the launch albeit in a left-hand drive configuration.
Ami has a dedicated page on the Citroen UK website where customers can learn about the product. Customers in the UK can order their Ami online with a deposit.

In less than two weeks, Citroen received 1,130 reservations, and by then 14,000 people had registered their interest in Ami in the UK. On October 7, 2021, the company announced it was opening Ami reservations to all.
As quoted from citroen.co.uk, Ami has been since the beginning to be as environmentally friendly as possible. So the designers have ensured that every part of the Ami vehicle is 100% recyclable apart from the battery which is 85% recyclable.
Ami is claimed to offer cheap and safe costs for public transportation in big and small cities, because it only provides two seats for passengers and drivers. The Citroën Ami may be small but it still has plenty of practical storage space as well as a luggage area in front of the passenger seat.
Branding itself as a community mobility solution, the Ami has a range of up to 43 miles and a top speed of 28mph. From the same page, Ami is priced around £7,695.
