Chevrolet has unveiled a new, more affordable version of its electric Silverado pickup, the Silverado EV LT, adding to the expanding lineup of its electric vehicles. This introduction follows the earlier releases of the Work Truck (WT) and First-Edition RST models, further diversifying Chevroletâs electric offerings with options tailored for various consumer needs.
New images and details of the Silverado EV LT showcase its versatility and features designed for everyday use, making it a promising addition to the electric vehicle market.
The Silverado EV WT, which debuted in late 2023, boasts impressive specifications with 510 horsepower and 615 lb-ft of torque, providing robust performance for work-related tasks. The First-Edition RST, introduced in May, steps up the power with up to 754 horsepower and over 785 lb-ft of torque in Wide Open Watts Mode.
This edition emphasizes performance and luxury, capable of accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in under 4.5 seconds. It features advanced capabilities such as four-wheel steer, automatic air suspension, a Multi-Flex Midgate, and an optional Multi-Flex Tailgate. The interior is equipped with high-tech amenities, including a massive 17-inch infotainment screen, an 11-inch driver display, and a +14-inch head-up display.
Both trims support DC fast charging up to 350 kW, which GM estimates can add 100 miles of range in just 10 minutes, and they offer a GM-estimated range of up to 450 miles on a full charge.
The newly announced Silverado EV LT aims to make electric pickups more accessible to a broader audience with a more budget-friendly price point. This trim will feature the same 17.7-inch infotainment screen and 11.3-inch driver display as found in the RST edition, providing a similar high-tech user experience.
The exterior includes LED lighting elements, a distinct lower front bumper, and an illuminated Chevrolet bowtie at the front. The truck also includes a 5’11” bed, available with Chevroletâs Multi-Flex Tailgate, offering flexibility for various cargo needs.
Buyers can also opt for the available 22-inch machine-face aluminum wheels with aero inserts, adding a stylish touch to the vehicleâs design.
Built on GM’s Ultium platform, the Silverado EV LT will feature an extended-range battery pack, providing nearly 400 miles of range. This platform is a cornerstone of GM’s electric vehicle strategy, known for its modularity and efficiency.
Chevrolet has emphasized that the Silverado EV LT is versatile and built for everyday use, making it an attractive option for consumers looking for a reliable and efficient electric truck.
Chevrolet indicated that the Silverado EV LT is a future trim, likely to debut as a 2025 model. The price is expected to be between $55,000 and $65,000, making it a more affordable option compared to the higher-end First-Edition RST, which costs over $96,000 (including the destination fee).
The Silverado EV lineup also includes trims priced at approximately $50,000 for the WT model and around $60,000 and $70,000 for other trims. In addition to these models, an off-road Trail Boss version of the Silverado EV is also anticipated, further expanding the options available to consumers.
