Chinese automaker Chery has launched the iCar V23, an all-electric compact SUV combining retro off-road design with advanced electric vehicle technology. Available in three trims, including rear-wheel drive (RWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD) options, the iCar V23 offers a maximum range of 501 km on the CLTC cycle and starts at $13,700.

The iCar V23 features a distinctive off-road aesthetic with a smoked front grille adorned by the iCar logo and round headlights. Its boxy silhouette, reminiscent of classic off-road vehicles, is enhanced with modern touches such as hidden door handles, a roof luggage rack, and a rear-mounted storage container. Buyers can choose from six exterior colors, including orange, green, black, and white.

At 4,220 mm long, 1,915 mm wide, and 1,845 mm high, with a 2,735 mm wheelbase, the V23’s dimensions ensure a compact yet rugged build. Designed for light off-road performance, it features approach and departure angles of 43° and 41°, respectively, along with a 210 mm minimum ground clearance for the AWD variant. A practical “backpack” integrated into the rear side-opening door offers storage for emergency tools, further emphasizing its adventure-ready design.

Inside, the V23 adopts a modern, minimalist cabin with a black-and-white color scheme, straight lines, and circular controls. The focal point is a 15.4-inch 2.5K central touchscreen powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip, offering CarPlay support and advanced infotainment capabilities. The interior prioritizes functionality, with a versatile 2×2 seating arrangement, foldable rear seats creating up to 744 liters of cargo space, and additional storage options, including under-seat compartments and a 90-liter underfloor trunk.
