Swedish logistics property developer Catena has announced a partnership with Einride to establish charging hubs for electric trucks at two of its strategically located properties. This initiative aims to support the growing demand for electric vehicle infrastructure along key transport routes in Sweden.
The first charging hub, located in Norrköping in eastern Sweden, is already operational. The second hub, situated in Helsingborg on the western coast near the Danish border, is anticipated to commence operations by November 2025. Each hub will feature six to eight charging terminals with capabilities of up to 400 kW, accommodating various electric truck models. While Catena will finance and own the charging infrastructure, Einride will oversee its operations. The hubs will be accessible to all electric trucks, promoting broader adoption of electric transport solutions.
Mathias Wiecher, General Manager of Energy & Charging Infrastructure at Einride, commented on the partnership: âBy offering charging services that are fully integrated with Einrideâs platform at Catenaâs strategically located properties, we will be able to facilitate more businesses with their transition toward more efficient and sustainable transport solutions. The partnership allows for us to support a faster transition to electrification and to contribute to the decarbonisation of the sector.â
Johan FranzĂ©n, Catenaâs Head of Business and Property, noted that the collaboration enhances the level of service for tenants while adding functionality to their properties. âOur partnership with Einride not only increases the level of service for our tenants but also allows us to generate new value for society and contribute to the transformation of a sector where every initiative makes a big difference,â he stated.
In addition to charging facilities, both hubs will include a driversâ lounge equipped with restrooms, showers, and kitchen amenities. Drivers will also have access to monitors in the lounge to track the charging process, further improving the overall experience at the charging hubs.
