In the midst of the challenges faced by various EV startups, Canoo Technologies has achieved a noteworthy milestone. The company has recently announced the successful and timely delivery of three Crew Transportation Vehicles (CTVs) to NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
These CTVs will play a crucial role in transporting astronauts to the launch pad for NASA’s highly anticipated Artemis lunar missions, as per the terms of their previous agreement. Based on the Canoo Lifestyle Vehicle electric minivan, the CTVs have been engineered to safely accommodate fully suited astronauts, flight support crews, and necessary equipment during the nine-mile journey to the launch pad.
Designed with a focus on astronaut and crew comfort and safety, the vehicles feature exclusive interior and exterior designs. Canoo has plans to release images of the CTV’s design later this year, offering a glimpse into the advanced features tailored for this important mission.

Regarding pricing, the Canoo Lifestyle Vehicle is currently listed with a starting MSRP of $39,950 (excluding destination charges). It is important to note that this price is for the Delivery variant, which includes two seats at the front and an enclosed cargo space. Canoo has yet to announce pricing for the passenger variant, which is expected to be more expensive.
The Artemis II mission represents a significant step in NASA’s long-term plan to establish a presence on the Moon for scientific research and exploration purposes. This mission will not only test NASA’s human deep space exploration capabilities but also mark the first time the Space Launch System rocket and Orion spacecraft carry humans.
