BMW is working with a subsidiary of Amazon, Alexa. Later this collaboration between BMW and Alexa from Amazon will work together to make voice command technology or Voice Assistant on BMW’s newest cars in the next two years.

This collaboration between BMW and Alexa Amazon is carried out at the annual Amazon Device and Services Launch event. In an official statement, Amazon said that the use of software for voice commands from Alexa will be one way to provide a new automotive experience that can be personalized, proactive, and intuitive.

Stephan Durach as Senior Vive President of Development Technical Operations from BMW said this collaboration will be the beginning of a new technological change around voice commands. He said that Alexa Technology will provide a more natural experience in integrating voice commands that will be easier for drivers to use and safe when used when driving on the road.

In recent years, BMW has collaborated with Amazon to provide consumers with a more enjoyable driving experience. “Now we’re even more excited to advance our Alexa Custom Assistant voice command collaboration,” added Amazon.

In using this voice command technology, Amazon said that the Alexa Custom Assistant will make it easier for BMW car owners to create intelligent assistants that can be customized according to their needs, especially for the use of several technologies in this car entertainment system. In addition, the use of this technology will also minimize misspellings in the use of Voice Assistant.

Alexa’s voice command technology will also increase the privacy of vehicle owners. The Alexa Custom Assistant installed on every BMW car has passed a high standard of commitment between BMW and Amazon which allows the driver’s control in the car to remain in their control.

And no less interesting, this technology from Alexa also allows the driver to know the status of the car’s battery power for electric cars and can find the nearest charging station according to customer needs. And no less important, this system will also detect the service time of the car which will later be connected to the BMW dealer network as needed.

The plan is that Amazon’s Alexa voice command technology will begin to be applied to the latest generation of BMW cars within the next 2 years. It will be interesting to see how this advanced voice command technology can work in these new BMW cars.
