Blue Corner and BluePoint Partner to Deploy 280 EV Charging Ports in Belgium

Blue Corner, a subsidiary of Blink Charging, has signed a decade-long deal with BluePoint, a subsidiary of Belgium’s Technology Trade Federation AGORIA, to provide 280 electric vehicle (EV) charging ports to support over 2,000 companies in Belgium. Blue Corner will be responsible for installing, operating, and maintaining the EQ 200 EV chargers at selected BluePoint business centers in Brussels, Antwerp, and Liege. The Level 2 chargers will be rolled out over the next few years to meet the growing demand for EV charging in Belgium.

“We are proud to partner with BluePoint and AGORIA to install the right chargers in the right places to ensure we are meeting the needs of EV drivers,” said Olivier Van Schap, Managing Director at Blue Corner. “We welcome the employees of the more than 2,000 AGORIA member companies to our expanding EV charging network throughout Belgium and helping drive the adoption of EVs everywhere.”

AGORIA, which brings together over 2,000 technology companies in Belgium, is committed to promoting the transition to EVs, with a goal of at least 50% of its member companies having made the switch to zero-emission vehicles by 2025. The agreement with Blue Corner is part of BluePoint’s strategy to create as much value for society as possible.

“We want to support and engage our members to develop a mobility plan leading to the modal shift so that by the year 2025 at least half of our members have made this important step. By the same year, we want to help prepare our members so that every new car company in the sector is powered by a zero-emission technology,” Jean-Marc Timmermans, AGORIA Business Group Leader Manufacturing, Transport & Mobility Technologies said.

The EQ 200 charger is designed by Blink Charging with flexibility in mind. It is a compact three-phase AC charging station with a powerful output of 32 amps at 22kW. The charger is also capable of connecting to Wi-Fi and communicating with various home energy management systems. Users will also have access to the Blink Charging Mobile App and visibility on the Blink Map, which is used by over 440,000 active EV drivers in 27 countries. The EQ 200 also offers efficient and scalable charging capabilities with Plug & Charge (ISO 15118) functionality, which enables an EV to automatically identify and authorize itself to the charger.

Blue Corner’s partnership with BluePoint and AGORIA will help drive the adoption of EVs in Belgium, providing much-needed charging services to meet the increasing demand. The deployment of the EQ 200 chargers will be a major step towards a more sustainable and connected future.
