Blink Charging and AAA have recently announced a collaborative partnership aimed at enhancing electric vehicle (EV) solutions and charging services for AAA members. While AAA clubs are primarily known for their emergency road assistance, this partnership intends to bring about notable advancements in their offerings.
Traditionally, AAA clubs have relied on local towing companies, contracted by state AAA branches, to provide emergency services to their members. In line with this collaboration, Blink Charging has already taken the initiative to install onsite EV chargers at numerous AAA branch offices, AAA-owned repair facilities, and auto repair shops. Building on this progress, Blink Charging is now looking to extend its services and products to AAA service providers, encompassing towing, light service, battery service, and more.
According to Blink Charging, this partnership will benefit a significant number of AAA clubs and affiliates, specifically 19 out of the 32 clubs across the United States. With over 60,000 locations set to receive these enhanced services, AAA members can expect potential cost reductions through a streamlined ordering process and preferred pricing options.
The integration of additional EV charging solutions within AAA facilities and fleets aims to attract more EV drivers to become AAA members. The program seeks to equip roadside assistance providers with the necessary tools and skills to effectively cater to the needs of EV owners.
Cliff Ruud, the automotive managing director at AAA, expressed his enthusiasm about this collaborative endeavor, stating, “Today, EVs play a significant role in the changing automotive industry, and AAA is pleased to welcome Blink as a Preferred Supplier, providing roadside EV solutions to our members.”
