Berlin-Based Benno Bikes Unveils Compact and Versatile Urban Cargo E-Bike

Berlin’s renowned Benno Bikes has introduced its latest urban-focused cargo e-bike, the Benno 46er, showcasing the growing popularity of electric cargo bikes as a practical alternative for daily urban mobility. With the ability to navigate cycling paths and the versatility to replace cars for some commuters, electric cargo bikes are gaining traction, particularly in Europe and Asia.

The Benno 46er shares styling and features with its predecessor, the Benno RemiDemi, a long-wheelbase cargo bike. However, the 46er distinguishes itself with a more compact design, enhancing maneuverability in congested urban areas while maintaining impressive cargo-hauling capabilities and a highly configurable setup.

Powered by Bosch, the Benno 46er offers a choice between the Performance Line CX or Performance Speed motor. Notably, the Speed motor, allowing a top speed of 28 miles per hour, is available in select markets where regulations permit. Regardless of motor selection, the 46er is equipped with a 500-watt-hour InTube battery pack, promising noteworthy range and convenient charging.

The compact yet robust design of the Benno 46er supports an impressive cargo capacity of 190 kilograms. This includes 60 kilograms on the rear rack, a rider weight of up to 120 kilograms, and an additional 10 kilograms of cargo up front. Weighing in at 30 kilograms, the bike features a single frame size with multiple adjustment points to accommodate riders of varying sizes. Sporting a mullet setup with a 26-inch wheel at the front and a 24-inch wheel at the back, the 46er includes a suspension fork to enhance comfort on uneven surfaces.

While specific pricing details are yet to be released, Benno is currently accepting product inquiries on its official website. Prospective buyers can explore the various configurations of the Benno 46er and access the complete spec sheet on the company’s website for further details.
