General Motors CEO, Mary Barra, believes that a slower approach to electric vehicle production in North America will be more lucrative in the long term. Transport group Stagecoach has ordered 55 Enviro400EV double-deck battery-electric buses from Alexander Dennis, a subsidiary of NFI, as part of the UK Government’s Zero-Emission Bus Regional Areas (ZEBRA) scheme. The buses will be used on Stagecoach’s Oxford city and Oxfordshire networks from late 2023, making it the first firm order for the new battery-electric double decker fully designed and built by Alexander Dennis. McLaren Applied, a British technology company, took home four awards at the E-Mobility Awards ceremony at the British Motor Museum. The company was awarded the overall “Prix d’Honneur” and the “Emobility/EV Design and/or Engineering Team” award. Ford has been granted 11 patents for combining drones and vehicles, indicating the automaker’s belief that UAVs could be a useful tool for drivers in the future. The patents cover a range of topics, including drone integration into a vehicle’s moonroof and communication between drones and vehicles, as well as takeoff and landing.
