Electric vehicle (EV) batteries benefit from occasional high-acceleration driving, which can extend their service life significantly, according to new research from Stanford University. The two-year study, published in Nature, challenges conventional battery testing methods and suggests that dynamic discharge—common during acceleration—reduces degradation. Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer Xpeng said on Thursday that its cumulative vehicle deliveries have surpassed 800,000 units, a milestone achieved over a period of more than six years. EnergyVision has secured a ten-year concession to install, finance and operate 2,500 electric vehicle (EV) charging stations comprising 5,000 charging points across Belgian rail operator SNCB’s car parks by 2032, the company said on Monday.
