Volkswagen’s Spain unit SEAT said it would proceed with an electric vehicle project in Spain after addressing initial concerns with the local government about the size of the subsidy for the venture. The SEAT-led project, with 60 other companies also taking part, requires a $10.06 billion investment to electrify Spain’s auto industry and transform the country on the Iberian peninsula into a European hub for electronic vehicles and battery production. Volvo revealed the form of the latest electric car which is an SUV type and is smaller than the newly launched EX90. The public guessed that the SUV was the EX30, the smallest variant of Volvo’s electric car line-up. Porsche signaled its intention to enter the electric vehicle business in September 2015 at the Frankfurt Motor Show where they unveiled the Mission E concept, and after that the company unveiled the Taycan. Honda has officially announced that it is testing micro electric vehicles that use cooperative intelligence (CI) and artificial intelligence (AI) features. Later this vehicle is intended to accompany human life and the needs of machines. Now, Amazon is ready for its first holiday season by launching hundreds of its electric delivery fleet in more than a dozen cities. Tesla has recalled 40,168 Model S and Model X manufactured in the 2017-2021 period due to a software flaw that could reduce or bypass power steering assist when the car mistakenly treats potholes and other bumps in the road as steering assist torque. The Canadian government has asked three Chinese companies to end lithium mining in the country. Lithium is the raw material for electric car batteries and other high-tech products. They were also ordered to sell all the mining company’s assets. Canada limits foreign involvement in supplying these critical raw materials.
