Advanced battery materials firm Vianode has introduced its first product based on recycled graphite, marking a step toward more sustainable lithium-ion battery production. The company said product samples and data sheets are now available for customer evaluation. Graphite is a key component in lithium-ion batteries, particularly for anode materials. Vianode stated that its new recycled graphite is part of its “next-generation material series” and contributes to reducing CO2 emissions in graphite production. Audi has announced plans to cut up to 7,500 jobs in Germany by 2029 as part of a sweeping austerity program aimed at reducing costs and improving efficiency. California-based electric truck operator WattEV has ordered 40 Tesla Semi vehicles, with the first two units already delivered and deployed at the ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles. Sweden’s state-owned miner LKAB said it could supply up to 18% of Europe’s demand for rare earth metals in the long term if its Arctic Per Geijer mine enters production. The announcement coincides with the start of construction for a related processing facility in northern Sweden.
