In a significant move to bolster electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure, Allstar, a prominent fuel card provider, has joined forces with Fastned, a leading European fast-charging operator. Their partnership aims to empower business drivers utilizing Allstar’s One Electric solution, enabling them to effortlessly locate, charge, and make payments at Fastned’s extensive network of high-power charging stations across the United Kingdom.
This collaboration will substantially amplify the number of fast charge points available within Allstar’s network, skyrocketing the total count to over 6,000. With this expansion, the Allstar network will encompass an impressive 11,000 charge points, spread across more than 4,000 locations throughout the UK. A notable 94 percent of these charging points fall under the “fast, rapid, and ultra-rapid” charger category, guaranteeing swift and efficient charging experiences.
Expressing his enthusiasm for the partnership, Tom Rowlands, Fleetcor Managing Director of Global EV Solutions, including Allstar in the UK, said, “We’re excited to partner with Fastned to expand our EV charging network. The company is a leading player in the European fast-charging market, and their high-powered chargers will provide our drivers with even more convenient and reliable charging options across the UK.”
This collaboration with Fastned follows Allstar’s recent successful partnerships with Evyve, Fuuse, and InstaVolt. In addition, last year Allstar forged an alliance with Allego, further strengthening its position in the EV charging domain. Allstar has also hinted at upcoming partnerships with more networks in the near future, signaling their dedication to continually enhancing their service offerings and expanding the accessibility of charging facilities for EV drivers across the nation.
The joint venture between Allstar and Fastned holds great promise for the UK’s growing electric vehicle sector. By fortifying the charging infrastructure and increasing the availability of high-power charging points, this partnership will contribute to alleviating range anxiety concerns among EV drivers. With a more extensive and reliable network, businesses and drivers will be encouraged to embrace electric mobility with greater confidence and convenience.
