ADS-TEC Energy, a provider of energy storage solutions, has secured a contract to supply its fast charging stations for the NXT 50five projects in the Netherlands. The NXT 50five projects, a joint venture between 50five and NXT Mobility, aim to install approximately 200 fast charging locations across the country over the next four years.

The contract was awarded to NXT 50five following a competitive tender organized by the Metropolitan Region Amsterdam – Electric (MRA-E), with around three-quarters of the 74 municipalities in the north-west region participating in the tender.

The fast chargers supplied by ADS-TEC Energy will be installed in the Dutch provinces of Noord-Holland, Utrecht, and Flevoland. While the company has not disclosed the exact number of charging points per location, it has highlighted that its battery-buffered fast-charging solutions are ideal for the region, which faces network congestion. Unlike conventional fast-charging stations, ADS-TEC’s solutions can be easily deployed across a wide range of locations without significant infrastructure upgrades.

The ChargePost, ADS-TEC’s fast charging station, boasts up to 300 kW charging capacity and features a battery capacity ranging from 144 to 201 kWh. The station also includes up to two 75-inch advertising displays, making it a versatile and efficient solution for public charging infrastructure.

“We are thrilled to have been awarded this tender, which underscores the appeal and effectiveness of our products,” said Thomas Speidel, CEO of ADS-TEC Energy. “Our technology enables the rapid deployment of charging infrastructure, contributing to the acceleration of sustainable mobility transition.”

NXT 50five is one of three parties awarded the concession, alongside Shell and TotalEnergies, who will also be expanding their fast-charging infrastructure in the region. NXT 50five has already begun implementation, with the first nine sites currently under installation. Further details regarding the project timeline and additional sites have yet to be disclosed.
