ADS-TEC Energy, a German provider of battery-buffered ultra-fast charging technology, has appointed Renato Gross as Senior Vice President of ADSE Inc., its US subsidiary. Gross, known for his extensive international experience in production and sales, will oversee the company’s office in Alabama and lead efforts to expand the US market for ADS-TEC Energy’s battery-buffered, ultra-fast EV charging products.
Thomas Speidel, CEO of ADS-TEC Energy, praised Gross’s track record, stating, “His skills and commitment to excellence are well aligned with our needs and goals, and we are pleased that he is now part of our company.”
In response, Gross expressed his commitment to adapting ADS-TEC Energy’s products to meet the needs of the US market, aiming to combine German engineering with American ingenuity to deliver top-tier ultra-fast EV charging products.
In a related development, ADS-TEC Energy has deployed its first ChargeBox at the Marina Palms Yacht Club and Residences in North Miami Beach, a multi-family residential complex. The ChargeBox, equipped with built-in batteries, can draw power from existing electrical grids, store it, and output power at speeds of up to 320kW. This innovative solution eliminates the need for costly upgrades or extensive construction, enabling installation in weeks rather than months.
George Barriere, General Manager of FirstService Residential, explained the need for a more advanced charging technology at Marina Palms, stating, “Charging took many hours. We realized we needed an alternative, but the challenge was finding a more advanced, speedier charging technology that could be installed in limited space, with minimal disruption and construction and without requiring costly electrical upgrades.”
ADS-TEC Energy estimates that the ChargeBox can charge 100 EVs per week using two parking spaces, a significant improvement over traditional Level 2 chargers, which would require 20 spaces for the same capacity.
