With its ambition to contribute to the transformation of the green economy, Canada-based electric bus manufacturer Letenda is introducing a new generation of transit buses specially developed for cruising through the harsh winter season.
Named, Electrip, this bus is a 9-meter-long inter-city transit bus with a design and geometry that focuses on comfort, visibility, and prioritizes maneuverability.
Letenda President and CEO, Nicolas Letendre, revealed that the Letenda Electrip bus is the first model in the company’s line that has been in development for six years.

“We are proud to present the results of our six years of research and efforts. The Electrip, an electric city bus designed to withstand winter temperatures. This achievement was made possible with the help of an experienced team including the world leader in electric vehicle technology and a Quebec manufacturer to develop and market innovative buses”, he explained.
These buses have a modular structure and are mostly made of aluminum. Although not disclosing the exact number, the company said that the Electrip bus has a super light weight compared to buses in general.
The Electrip has a low floor design that maximizes cab floor space and can be configured in a number of ways. The maximum capacity is 45 people, including 24 seated passengers and up to six wheelchairs.
Designed for the harsh Canadian winters, the Letenda Electrip buses are certainly equipped with a heating system that plays an important role in these conditions such as thermal insulation, heated surfaces and radiant floor heating.

Although not disclosing about the specifications, it is known that the Letenda Electrip bus offers electrical energy with a capacity of 222-296 kWh which is powered by the Cummins Li-Ion NMC module. Not only that, this bus can also charge a 150 kW battery with a DC charging system in two hours.
This Letenda Electrip electric bus was introduced some time ago and is already available in Quebec, Canada, which is an important step towards electrification of public transport in the area.
