Mazda EZ-6 Debuts with 255 hp and Impressive 373-Mile Electric Range

Mazda has released detailed specifications and pricing for its new EZ-6 electric flagship, following an initial unveiling at the Beijing Auto Show. Described as an “elegant, intelligent, and fun” vehicle, the EZ-6 showcases a streamlined Kobo design, featuring a wide grille and LED headlights, along with frameless doors that have flush-mounted handles.

The vehicle measures 193.7 inches (4921 mm) in length with a wheelbase of 114 inches (2895 mm), making it slightly longer than the Toyota Camry while offering additional space between the wheels. Notable exterior elements include a panoramic glass roof, aerodynamically optimized 19-inch wheels, rain-sensing wipers, slender taillights, and higher-end variants with an active rear spoiler and power liftgate.

Inside, the EZ-6 features a minimalist cabin equipped with a 10.1-inch digital instrument cluster and a floating 14.6-inch infotainment system. Buyers can choose from leather or Nappa leather seating, complemented by dual-zone automatic climate control and a six-speaker audio system. Premium options include a heated steering wheel, heated and ventilated front seats, a 64-color ambient lighting system, and a 14-speaker Sony premium audio system.

The EZ-6 will be available with both electric and range-extended powertrains. The electric variant is equipped with a rear-mounted motor producing 255 hp (190 kW / 258 PS) and 236 lb-ft (320 Nm) of torque. It offers two battery options: a 56.1 kWh battery providing a CLTC range of 298 miles (480 km) and a larger 68.8 kWh battery extending that range to more than 373 miles (600 km).

In contrast, the range-extended variant features a naturally aspirated 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine generating 94 hp (70 kW), which charges the battery, combined with an electric motor that delivers 215 hp (160 kW / 218 PS) and 236 lb-ft (320 Nm) of torque. This variant has two battery sizes: an 18.9 kWh option offering 65 miles (105 km) of electric-only range and a larger 28.4 kWh battery providing 99 miles (160 km). Overall, the range-extended variant boasts a total range exceeding 808 miles (1,300 km).

Pricing for the EZ-6 starts at „139,800 (approximately $19,600) for the range-extended variant and „159,800 ($22,427) for the electric version.
