Leapmotor, a Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer, has achieved a significant milestone with the production of its 500,000th vehicle. The company reached this landmark just over three months after rolling out its 400,000th vehicle, reflecting rapid growth in its production capacity and market presence.
Leapmotor has reported strong sales performance in recent months, with over 30,000 units sold in both August and September. The company’s 500,000th vehicle, a C16 model, which was launched in June, quickly gained popularity, receiving more than 10,000 orders in its first month. The C16 is available in both battery electric vehicle (BEV) and extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) variants.
In September, Leapmotor delivered 33,767 vehicles, marking a 113.72% increase year-on-year and an 11.42% rise from August’s sales figures. The company has delivered 172,861 vehicles in the first nine months of 2023, reflecting a nearly 95% increase compared to the previous year.
Founded in 2015, Leapmotor has established itself as a prominent player in China’s new energy vehicle (NEV) market. In collaboration with Stellantis NV, Leapmotor is also expanding its footprint in international markets, with recent launches in 13 European countries.
