Everything You Should Know About the Peugeot E-408 Specifications

Peugeot has expanded its lineup with the introduction of the all-electric version of the 408, a unique combination of a hatchback saloon and SUV. Already available in combustion engine, mild hybrid, and plug-in hybrid versions, the new Peugeot E-408 marks the brand’s latest step into the electric vehicle market.

Available to order now, starting at €46,600, the e-408 stands out with a 157 kW motor and a 58.2 kWh NMC battery, making it one of the most powerful models within the Stellantis brand lineup.

Originally launched in 2022, the Peugeot 408 featured hybrid options, but the fully electric version has only now been released. With its distinctive fastback silhouette, Peugeot markets the e-408 as part of the top of the C-segment, blending SUV characteristics like raised suspension and rugged plastic wheel arch panelling with the sleekness of a saloon.

Measuring 4.69 metres in length and sharing the same 2.79-metre wheelbase as Citroën’s C5 X, the e-408 offers ample cargo space with a boot capacity ranging from 471 to 1,545 litres when the rear seats are folded.

Beneath its stylish exterior, the e-408 is powered by a synchronous electric motor with permanent magnets, delivering 157 kW of power and 345 Nm of torque. This model breaks away from the typical 115 kW motor found in other Peugeot electric vehicles, bringing it in line with the performance of the E-3008 and E-5008.

The 58.2 kWh battery is made up of 18 modules featuring an NMC cell chemistry mix of 80% nickel, 10% manganese, and 10% cobalt. Charging capabilities include 11 kW AC and 120 kW DC, which allows a 20-80% charge in just over 30 minutes at fast chargers.

The Peugeot E-408 doesn’t just shine under the hood—it also comes packed with advanced features. Buyers can choose from the Allure and GT variants, with the base Allure model equipped with LED headlights, 19-inch alloy wheels, a 10-inch instrument cluster, sat nav, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, and dual-zone climate control.

The more premium GT version adds Matrix LED headlights, front parking assistance, aluminium interior trim with customizable ambient lighting, and a Drive Assist Plus package for semi-autonomous driving.

Produced at the Mulhouse plant, the e-408 comes with an 8-year or 160,000-kilometre warranty, placing it in the high-end C-Class segment and further expanding Peugeot’s electric vehicle lineup, which now includes twelve models.
