Xpeng has expanded its multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) lineup with the introduction of the new X9 610 Max, aiming to broaden its customer base and enhance sales growth.
Launched today, the X9 610 Max starts at a price of RMB 379,800 (approximately $54,090), marking a RMB 20,000 increase over the entry-level X9 610 Pro.
The X9 610 Max distinguishes itself with the inclusion of two LiDAR sensors, enabling the use of Xpeng’s advanced XNGP (Navigation Guided Pilot) system, which provides full-scenario assisted driving capabilities.
In contrast, the X9 610 Pro lacks LiDAR and is limited to smart driving functions primarily on highways, featuring capabilities like ACC (autonomous cruise control) for normal roads.
Additionally, the Max variant is equipped with enhanced intelligent driving hardware, incorporating two Nvidia Drive Orin chips that deliver a total of 508 TOPS (trillions of operations per second) in computing power. The Pro version, however, utilizes a single Orin chip, providing 254 TOPS.
The original launch of the X9 occurred on January 1, offering four variants priced between RMB 359,800 and RMB 419,800. The previous lineup included two Pro versions and two Max versions, with a CLTC (China Light-Duty Vehicle Test Cycle) range of 610 to 702 kilometers.
As Xpeng’s flagship model under the SEPA (Smart Electric Platform Architecture) 2.0, the X9 represents the company’s most expensive offering to date, highlighting its commitment to advancing electric vehicle technology and features.
