Ford has revealed the culmination of two years of development: a rally-inspired version of the Mustang Mach-E designed for optimal performance on gravel tracks. Dubbed the Ford Mustang Mach-E Rally, this variant offers a unique blend of performance and off-road capability, setting it apart in the competitive electric crossover segment.

Unlike many concept vehicles, the Mustang Mach-E Rally is not a one-off special but a production variant priced starting at $59,995. It comes equipped with the 91-kilowatt-hour extended-range battery pack, although the EPA range slightly drops from 280 miles to 265 miles due to the rally modifications.

The Mach-E Rally features standard dual-motor all-wheel drive with a combined power output of 480 horsepower, similar to the GT variant. However, it boasts 100 more pound-feet of torque (or 66 lb-ft more than the GT Performance), totaling 700 lb-ft. This power boost enables the Mach-E Rally to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.4 seconds, four-tenths quicker than the Mach-E GT.

Enhancements specific to the Mach-E Rally include a one-inch suspension lift, special adaptive damper tuning, and 19-inch white wheels with Michelin CrossClimate2 all-season tires. Ford has also equipped the Mach-E Rally with upgraded Brembo front brakes for added confidence on loose surfaces.

To protect the underbelly from rocks and other obstacles, the Mach-E Rally features underbody protection. Visually, it stands out from other Mach-E models with a special grille with integrated fog lights, a distinct rear spoiler, and a black roof complemented by black stripes on the hood and decklid.

The Mach-E Rally introduces a unique driving mode called RallySport, optimized for off-road driving. This mode allows for more sliding and changes the accelerator pedal response to enhance control, promising an exhilarating driving experience.

Customers can choose from six available paint colors for the Mach-E Rally, with the attention-grabbing Grabber Yellow being a standout option. While the released photos show a dirty vehicle from testing, the rugged appearance adds to the Mach-E Rally’s appeal, showcasing Ford’s commitment to delivering a fun and capable electric crossover.
