Neta Auto, a subsidiary of Chinese electric vehicle (EV) company Hozon Auto, has officially introduced the Neta L, the latest SUV option in the Chinese EV market. The launch event for the Neta L, currently available only in extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) variants, was held today, with plans to offer battery electric vehicle (BEV) variants in the future.
The Neta L EREV is offered in four variants with starting prices ranging from RMB 129,900 ($18,000) to RMB 159,900. Notably, the lowest-priced version will be officially launched in August, with only the price announced today.
Built on Neta’s Shanhai platform, the Neta L is a five-seat mid-size SUV with dimensions of 4,770 mm in length, 1,900 mm in width, and 1,660 mm in height, along with a wheelbase of 2,810 mm.
Featuring a 1.5L four-cylinder engine as a range-extender and a battery pack with a capacity of up to 40.27 kWh, the Neta L EREV provides a CLTC battery range of up to 310 kilometers. This battery capacity is notable for an EREV of this size, with the entry-level version of Neta’s smaller all-electric SUV, the Neta X, equipped with a 51.8-kWh battery pack.
Neta claims that the Neta L can charge from 30 percent to 80 percent in less than 19 minutes, with a maximum charge multiplier of 2.6 C, making it the fastest charging EREV. With a full fuel tank and full charge, the Neta L boasts a combined CLTC range of up to 1,300 kilometers.
Taking inspiration from Li Auto, Neta has included a refrigerator and two large 15.6-inch screens in the Neta L’s features.
Additionally, Neta provided a sneak peek of the shooting brake variant of the Neta S at the launch event, which is set to debut at the upcoming Beijing auto show.
