In a recent announcement, Tesla has unveiled the highly-anticipated Model 3 Highland facelift, earning early praise for its enhanced driving comfort and reduced interior noise levels when compared to its predecessor. While the Model 3 Highland comes with a slightly higher price tag, ranging from 2.4% in Europe to 12% in China, it introduces new Flame Red and Starry Grey color options, catering to a broader range of consumer preferences.
A key highlight of the Model 3 Highland is its unprecedented aerodynamic design, boasting a drag coefficient of less than 0.22 Cd. Tesla has streamlined the head- and tail light designs to complement the vehicle’s elongated body. Additionally, the car features an entirely new suspension system, aimed at delivering superior road comfort and minimizing cabin noise.
Initial test drives of the Model 3 Highland have corroborated Tesla’s claims regarding the softer suspension and reduced cabin noise. While some residual noise remains audible, it is notably improved when compared to the older Model 3. Reviewers have also lauded the use of higher-quality interior materials, describing them as “a lot softer.” This contributes to an enhanced acoustic experience, particularly when paired with the new audio system featuring up to 17 speakers and two subwoofers.
Testers have explored the Model 3 Highland’s interior features, including the new ambient lighting that runs along the cabin. They have commended the responsiveness and slimmer bezels of the dual internal screens, positioned at both the front and rear of the vehicle.
One of the test drivers experienced the 2024 Model 3 Long Range version, which boasts an impressive 463HP and accelerates from 0-62MPH in just 4.4 seconds. However, it’s worth noting that the top speed with the new standard 19-inch Nova Wheels equipped with silent Hankook tires has been reduced from 233 to 201 kilometers per hour.

Despite this significant reduction in top speed with the stock tire option, the Model 3 Highland managed to accelerate from 0-62 MPH in 4.6 seconds during a country road test. This performance aligns with Tesla’s advertised specifications, ensuring a comfortable and efficient driving experience.
The next Model 3 Highland driving test is scheduled to take place on the Autobahn in Germany, providing an opportunity to evaluate the vehicle’s actual top speed and potential range improvements.
