In a groundbreaking collaboration, Volta Trucks, the all-electric commercial vehicle manufacturer, has partnered with DSV, a global transport and logistics powerhouse, to initiate real-world testing as part of the Volta Zero’s Driving Experience Programme.
The Volta Zero, an all-electric medium-duty truck, is set to become the pioneering emission-free addition to DSV’s fleet. Operating from DSV’s southern hub in Purfleet, this cutting-edge vehicle will take on the role of completing last-mile groupage deliveries within London and the Southeast region. The truck is scheduled for operation between 06:00 and 19:00, relying on overnight charging at DSV’s primary depot.
With a presence in over 80 countries and a workforce surpassing 75,000 individuals, DSV holds a significant position in the global transport and logistics sector. Recognizing its pivotal role, the company has taken a notable step towards sustainability by pledging to achieve net zero emissions across its operations by 2050.
The Volta Zero Driving Experience Programme extends an enticing proposition to fleet operators, allowing them to experience firsthand the integration of a production-specification all-electric truck within their operations. Currently active in the UK, France, Germany, Netherlands, and Sweden, the program is slated to expand into additional markets in the forthcoming months.
