HiPhi, the luxury electric vehicle (EV) brand under Chinese start-up Human Horizons Technology, has commenced sales of its first two models, the HiPhi X SUV and HiPhi Z GT, in Europe. The company, known for its focus on autonomous driving and EV technologies, recently received certification in Europe and has now revealed the pricing details for the two models. HiPhi plans to expand its presence in the European market with the introduction of a third EV model.
The HiPhi X, initially showcased as the HiPhi 1 SUV concept in 2019, has evolved into the flagship production model. It features automatic wing doors, dual 220 kW motors enabling acceleration from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in just 3.9 seconds, and a 97 kWh battery pack offering a WLTP range of 460 km (286 miles).
The HiPhi Z, introduced last year, boasts a futuristic “Digital GT” design, with a robotic touchscreen and automatic suicide doors. It shares similar performance specifications with the HiPhi X, including dual motors providing an output of 494 kW and a 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) acceleration time of 3.8 seconds. The HiPhi Z is equipped with a larger 120 kWh battery pack, offering a WLTP range of 555 km (345 miles).
HiPhi has announced the pricing details for both models in Germany and Norway, where it will initially launch. In Germany, the HiPhi X is priced at €109,000 ($119,000) for the six-seat configuration and €123,000 ($134,000) for the four-seat configuration. The HiPhi Z is priced at €105,000 ($114,600) for the five-seat configuration and €107,000 ($116,800) for the four-seat configuration.
In Norway, the prices are listed in Krone (Kr), with the HiPhi X priced at 1,164,000 Kr for the six-seat configuration and 1,326,000 Kr for the four-seat configuration. The HiPhi Z is priced at 1,110,000 Kr for the five-seat configuration and 1,143,000 Kr for the four-seat configuration.
HiPhi plans to introduce its third EV model, the HiPhi Y, to the European market. Unveiled at the 2023 Shanghai Auto Show, the HiPhi Y is a midsize SUV designed specifically for the European market, featuring a unique combination of standard bottom doors and gull-wing doors on top. The company aims to commence orders for the HiPhi Y in Europe by the end of this year.
Mark Stanton, Co-founder and CTO of HiPhi, expressed excitement about entering the European market and shared the brand’s vision for expansion. He stated, “The HiPhi X established itself as the best-selling luxury EV in China, and the HiPhi Z has also been extremely well received.
Now comes the first opportunity for European customers to find out why the cars have made such a phenomenal impact… this two-market start forms a perfect launchpad for us to extend our operations across the continent, with the aim of covering main European countries by 2027.”
HiPhi anticipates delivering the first EVs to European customers in the third quarter of 2023. The company’s move into the European market signifies its commitment to offering an innovative and luxurious driving experience to customers worldwide.
