Quantron, the renowned German company specializing in vehicle electrification, is making strides in its expansion plans by entering the Italian market. The company has announced its acquisition of the Eyes Group, a subsidiary of Friem, an Italian company that holds a prominent position in power converter production and the green hydrogen supply chain. This move will lead to the establishment of Quantron Italy, a new subsidiary for the company.

Headquartered in Milan, Quantron Italy will initially focus on manufacturing zero-emission vehicles for last-mile transportation. The strategic partnership between Quantron and Friem, facilitated by this acquisition, is expected to pave the way for future collaborations.

Quantron CEO, Michael Perschke, expressed the company’s intention to bolster its presence in Southern Europe and expand its zero-emission footprint in the rapidly growing Italian market. Perschke emphasized the advantages of the Eyes subsidiary, which already possesses the necessary infrastructure, as well as extensive expertise and knowledge of the local market. This foundation sets a solid stage for Quantron’s successful growth in Italy.

In addition to its foray into Italy, Quantron has been actively pursuing opportunities in other regions. The company recently unveiled a fuel cell truck tailored specifically for the US market, boasting an impressive range exceeding 1,300 km. This achievement marked Quantron’s successful entry into the US market in 2022. Furthermore, the company has formed a fuel cell truck partnership with Norwegian Hydrogen, strengthening its position in the European market. Quantron’s future plans also include a collaboration with ETO Motors, targeting the Indian market.

With its expansion efforts and strategic collaborations, Quantron continues to make significant strides in the field of vehicle electrification, positioning itself as a key player in the global shift towards sustainable transportation.
