German car manufacturer Audi recently revealed that the next-generation Audi RS6 will use a plug-in hybrid powertrain
The Audi RS6 is a family car with a high-powered sedan and station wagon model. In the C6 and 4F generation alerts in 2008, the car is equipped with a V10 engine with a capacity of 5,000 cc which has a power output of up to 571 hp and 650 Nm of torque.
However, lovers of big engines with wild power seem to have to be discouraged because the manufacturer will equip the latest generation Audi RS6 with a plug-in hybrid powertrain.
āOf course, the hybrid movement is the way to go for the next generation. For the RS6 Avant the current C8 generation is equipped with a 48V mild-hybrid system that does not help the car’s performance in the most aggressive mode. For the next generation, electric power will be a priority with a plug-in hybrid system. Then, in 2026 Audi will eliminate conventional engines and switch to electricity,” said Stephan Reil as Head of R&D Audi.
This means that the Audi RS6 C8 will be the last product to use a conventional V8 engine before switching to a plug-in hybrid system.
In addition, other Audi line-ups such as the RS7 and RS Q8 will follow the transition steps such as the RS6. This is done because the European continent has a target to use electric vehicles by 2030. Of course, the target is to suppress carbon emissions that have affected the earth’s increasing temperature.
