Kia has opened orders in the UK for performance-focused GT versions of the EV3, EV4 and EV5, expanding the company’s range of electric vehicles with three new all-wheel-drive models.
First unveiled at the Brussels Motor Show in January, the EV3 GT, EV4 GT and EV5 GT are Kia’s first GT variants based on the 400-volt version of Hyundai Motor Group’s Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP). All three models use an 81.4 kWh battery and dual-motor all-wheel-drive powertrains.
Kia Adds Performance Hardware and Software
The three GT models receive a range of chassis and software upgrades designed to provide a more dynamic driving experience.
Key features include electronically controlled suspension, electronic dynamic torque vectoring and launch control. Kia also equips the models with its six-speed Virtual Gear Shift system, which simulates gear changes using accelerator input, steering-wheel paddles and artificial engine sounds.
The GT variants retain the practical positioning of their standard counterparts while adding higher power outputs and performance-oriented equipment.
EV3 GT Starts at £48,695
The EV3 GT is the most affordable of the three models in the UK, with an on-the-road starting price of £48,695.
Its dual-motor system produces 215 kW and 468 Nm of torque, enabling acceleration from 0 to 62 mph in 5.7 seconds. Kia quotes a maximum WLTP range of 334 miles.
The EV3 GT is equipped with an 81.4 kWh battery and all-wheel drive.
EV4 GT Offers 313-Mile Range
The EV4 GT starts at £49,345 and uses the same 215 kW power output as the EV3 GT.
The model accelerates from 0 to 62 mph in 5.6 seconds, making it the quickest of the three GT models to the same benchmark. Its maximum WLTP range is rated at 313 miles.
Like the EV3 GT, the EV4 GT combines an 81.4 kWh battery with a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system.
EV5 GT Produces 225 kW
The larger EV5 GT carries a starting price of £54,295 in the UK.
Its dual-motor powertrain produces 225 kW and 480 Nm, allowing the vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 6.2 seconds. Kia quotes a maximum WLTP range of 295 miles.
Despite its larger dimensions, the EV5 GT retains the same 81.4 kWh battery capacity as the EV3 GT and EV4 GT.
Single UK Specification for Each GT Model
Kia will offer each GT model in the UK in a single specification, with customers able to select only the exterior paint.
Standard equipment includes 20-inch alloy wheels, sports seats and GT-specific exterior and interior design elements.
The three models are covered by Kia’s seven-year, 100,000-mile vehicle warranty and an eight-year battery warranty. Deliveries are scheduled to take place throughout the remainder of 2026.
“The first of Kia’s 400-volt, Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) based GT variants, these latest vehicles blend the practical DNA of their non-GT counterparts with a more dynamic driving experience, injecting more passion and thrills into the everyday experience,” Kia said.
Kia Expands Its Electric GT Lineup
The EV3 GT, EV4 GT and EV5 GT expand Kia’s electric performance range beyond the EV6 GT and EV9 GT.
Kia had previously confirmed that the three smaller 400-volt electric models would receive GT variants, with the vehicles positioned as performance-focused additions to the company’s broader EV lineup.
The EV4 has also established a presence in the UK market, where Kia says it remains its best-selling electric model. The model went on sale in the country at the end of 2024.
Selected EV4 versions have subsequently qualified for the highest £3,750 band of the UK government’s Electric Car Grant following a reassessment of the model’s environmental credentials.
