Nio delivered 37,408 vehicles in September, an increase of 7.65% from a year earlier and 4.39% from August, allowing the Chinese electric vehicle maker to meet its delivery guidance for the third quarter.
The company delivered 109,178 vehicles in the third quarter, up 25.39% year-on-year and 1.41% from the second quarter. The result was within Nio’s guidance range of 108,000 to 111,000 vehicles issued on September 1.
Nio Meets Third-Quarter Delivery Guidance
Nio’s third-quarter deliveries exceeded the lower end of its guidance by 1,178 vehicles and were 1,822 vehicles below the upper end.
The quarterly result also represented an improvement from the 107,658 vehicles delivered in the second quarter, which had fallen short of the company’s previous guidance of 110,000 to 115,000 vehicles.
September marked the end of two consecutive months of month-on-month delivery declines. However, year-on-year growth slowed to 7.65%, compared with 14.47% in August.
Nio delivered 300,301 vehicles during the first nine months of the year, up 49.24% year-on-year. Cumulative deliveries reached 1,297,893 vehicles at the end of September.
Nio Brand Leads Growth Across Portfolio
Performance varied significantly among Nio’s three brands in September.
The Nio brand delivered 21,318 vehicles, up 55.29% from a year earlier and 0.68% from August.
Onvo delivered 8,763 vehicles, down 42.52% year-on-year and 0.53% from the previous month. The result marked the second consecutive month of year-on-year declines for the brand.
Firefly delivered 7,327 vehicles, representing year-on-year growth of 26.87% and a 25.21% increase from August. The figure also established a new monthly record, surpassing Firefly’s previous high of 7,084 vehicles set in December 2025.
Firefly added 1,475 vehicles compared with August, accounting for 93.83% of Nio’s overall monthly increase of 1,572 vehicles.
Nio and Firefly Offset Onvo Decline
The brand-level performance during the third quarter showed a similar divergence.
The Nio brand delivered 62,500 vehicles during the quarter, up 69.25% year-on-year. Onvo deliveries totaled 27,728 vehicles, down 26.36%.
Firefly delivered 18,950 vehicles in the third quarter, an increase of 51.76% year-on-year.
Growth from the Nio and Firefly brands more than offset the decline at Onvo, supporting Nio’s overall quarterly delivery growth.
Large Electric SUVs Remain Key Nio Models
Large battery-electric SUVs continued to account for a significant portion of Nio brand deliveries.
The third-generation ES8 reached 150,000 cumulative deliveries on September 20, one year after its launch.
The flagship ES9 reached 30,000 cumulative deliveries on September 23, 119 days after customer deliveries began on May 28.
The ES8 and ES9 together accounted for 17,480 deliveries in August, representing 82.55% of the Nio brand’s monthly total. The figures highlight the contribution of large battery-electric SUVs to the brand’s overall sales mix.
