Charging infrastructure manufacturer Alpitronic and transport provider Gruber Logistics have expanded their collaboration by deploying a battery-electric truck to transport production components between facilities in South Tyrol, supporting efforts to reduce emissions across the supply chain.
The electric shuttle service has been operating since spring 2026, linking Gruber Logistics’ warehouse in Auer with Alpitronic’s manufacturing facility in Bolzano.

Electric Truck Supports Daily Production Logistics
The approximately 20-kilometer route is served several times each day using a Scania P230 B6x2*4NB battery-electric truck, which transports components required for the production of Alpitronic’s high-power charging systems.
Originally introduced by Scania for regional freight operations, the electric truck offers a driving range of up to 250 kilometers and a gross vehicle weight of 26 tonnes.
The deployment forms part of both companies’ broader efforts to reduce the carbon footprint of logistics operations while supporting the growing demand for electric vehicle charging infrastructure across Europe.

Partnership Extends Beyond Transportation
The collaboration also includes reciprocal investments in charging technology.
Gruber Logistics has installed charging stations supplied by Alpitronic at its facilities, while Alpitronic benefits from zero-emission transport services for inbound production components.
The companies are also working together through the European FLEXMCS project to support the development of megawatt charging infrastructure for heavy-duty electric vehicles.

Fleet Electrification Continues
Gruber Logistics has been expanding its electric truck fleet over recent years, deploying battery-electric 26-tonne vehicles for regional distribution operations.
In 2023, the company announced orders for 50 heavy-duty electric trucks from Volvo, Scania and Iveco, with deliveries scheduled for integration into its fleet by 2025.
The logistics provider was also selected last year as one of the partners supporting the electrification of Daimler Truck’s inbound logistics network, further strengthening its role in advancing zero-emission freight transport across Europe.
