Irizar has delivered the first unit of its electric integral intercity bus, the Irizar i3 Electric, to the Polish city of Bełchatów, marking the debut of the model in the country.
The vehicle was officially presented in the presence of local and regional authorities, representatives of Wanicki, Irizar’s official distributor in Poland, and members of the Irizar team.
According to Irizar, the bus is expected to begin operating in early June across Bełchatów and the wider Łódź region as part of a transport initiative designed to provide free public transport connections between surrounding municipalities and the city centre.
The Irizar i3 Electric was first unveiled at Busworld Brussels 2025 and was developed specifically for intercity transport applications. The model is offered in both Low Entry and Normal Floor configurations.
The delivered vehicle is a 12.75-metre electric intercity bus configured with 45 passenger seats and additional capacity for up to 20 standing passengers. The layout also includes provisions for a dedicated PRM (persons with reduced mobility) area.
Irizar said the vehicle is equipped with a new-generation high-definition destination display system and extra-tinted windows. It also includes a built-in 360-degree overhead camera system intended to support manoeuvring and operational safety in urban and intercity environments.
The delivery follows several electric bus contracts secured by Irizar e-mobility in Poland during late 2025, including orders involving cities such as Warsaw, Krakow, Katowice and Bielsko-Biała.
The company said those agreements covered a combined total of 80 electric buses across five Polish cities.
