Tata Motors Launches Nexon EV MAX, Range up to 437 km

Tata Motors has just introduced the Tata Nexon EV MAX electric car in India (11/6). The Tata Nexon EV MAX is launched as a variant of the Tata Nexon EV, which is an electric car version of the Tata Nexon.

“We at Tata Motors are committed to accelerating the electrification of mobility in India,” said Vivek Srivatsa, Head of Marketing, Sales and Service Strategy for Tata Passenger Electric Mobility.

“We are excited to launch the Nexon EV MAX, an SUV that offers MAX electric car users the freedom to travel long distances,” added Srivatsa.

Like the Nexon, the Nexon EV MAX also has small dimensions with a body length of 3,993 mm, a width of 1,811 mm, a height of 1,616 mm and a wheelbase of 2,498 mm.

Despite its small size, the Nexon EV MAX has specifications that are not inferior to larger electric cars such as the Hyundai Kona Electric.

Starting from the drive, the Nexon EV MAX is equipped with a Permanent Magnet Synchronous electric motor with a power of 105 kW or 143 hp and 250 Nm of torque.

The Nexon EV MAX can be said to be an ‘upgrade’ because the regular Nexon EV can have an electric motor with 129 hp and 245 Nm of torque.

In addition to the electric motor, the Nexon EV MAX also gets a Lithium-ion battery which is larger than the regular Nexon EV, which is 40.5 kWh.

Tata claims the Nexon EV MAX battery can cover a distance of 437 kilometers according to the Modified Indian Drive Cycle (MIDC) standard.

The claimed mileage of the Nexon EV MAX is of course further than the regular Nexon EV, but still slightly less than the Kona Electric with a mileage of 452 km.

Now about charging, the Tata Nexon EV MAX gets two choices of AC charging methods, namely a 3.3 kW wall box or a 7.2 kW AC fast charger.

But for owners who don’t want to wait long, the Nexon EV MAX battery is compatible with 50 kW DC fast charging.

The claim is that the Nexon EV MAX battery can be charged from 0-80% in just 56 minutes if it is connected to a DC charging station.
