Xpeng reported a fourth consecutive month of year-on-year delivery declines in April, although the pace of contraction slowed as the company expanded its smart driving technology and premium vehicle offerings.
The company delivered 31,011 vehicles in April, down 11.51% from a year earlier but up 13.12% from March, according to figures released Friday.
For the first four months of 2026, Xpeng delivered 93,693 vehicles, representing a 27.40% decline from the same period last year.
The automaker said advanced driver-assistance technology is becoming an increasingly important factor in vehicle sales. Xpeng launched its second-generation Vision-Language-Action autonomous driving platform, known as VLA 2.0, in March.
According to the company, the updated system has improved customer engagement during vehicle test drives, with the average time required for buyers to make purchasing decisions after test drives falling 44.7% month-on-month.
Xpeng is also expanding its presence in the premium electric vehicle segment. The company opened pre-sales for its flagship Xpeng GX SUV on April 15.
The GX starts at 399,800 yuan ($58,550) and is offered in both battery-electric and extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) variants.
At the same time, Xpeng’s mass-market lineup continues to support overall sales volumes. Cumulative deliveries of the affordable Xpeng Mona M03 sedan surpassed 250,000 units on April 13, although the company did not disclose monthly delivery figures for the model.
Xpeng introduced the 2026 version of the Mona M03 on April 2 while maintaining its starting price at 119,800 yuan.
The company has also submitted regulatory filings for a new compact SUV called the Xpeng L03, which is expected to expand the Mona product lineup and support future sales growth.
Internationally, Xpeng continues to strengthen its manufacturing presence in Europe. On April 7, the first locally assembled Xpeng P7+ rolled off the production line at partner Magna Steyr’s factory in Austria.
The P7+ became the third Xpeng model produced in Austria after the Xpeng G6 and Xpeng G9, reflecting the company’s broader push into overseas markets amid intensifying competition in China’s EV industry.
