A consortium of GreenCell Mobility and EKA Mobility has received a Letter of Award from Telangana State Road Transport Corporation to supply and deploy 915 electric buses in Hyderabad.
The project will be implemented under the Government of India’s PM E-DRIVE scheme, coordinated by Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL), which aims to accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles and reduce urban emissions.
The order includes 100 nine-metre and 815 twelve-metre standard-floor, non-air-conditioned buses designed for urban operations. The companies said the vehicles are intended to improve operational efficiency and passenger transport services while delivering zero-emission mobility.
Rohit Srivastava said the award reflects confidence in the consortium’s capabilities. “Securing this LOA for 915 electric buses is a strong endorsement of our technology and execution capabilities. We are proud to contribute to Hyderabad’s transition toward cleaner, smarter urban transport in alignment with the Government of India’s PM E-DRIVE vision.”
GreenCell Mobility said the project supports broader sustainability goals. “At GreenCell Mobility, we continue to drive impactful change by enabling cleaner, smarter, and more responsible mobility solutions for communities across the country,” the company stated.
The deployment is expected to support improved air quality, reduced dependence on fossil fuels and enhanced public transport performance in Hyderabad, as India continues to scale up electric bus adoption through government-led procurement programmes.
The LOA builds on previous orders secured by EKA Mobility under CESL initiatives in states including Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Puducherry and Meghalaya, highlighting the growing role of public tenders in advancing fleet electrification across the country.
