Ford Motor has upgraded its compact electric van models, the Ford E-Transit Courier and Ford E-Tourneo Courier, with improved battery capacity, extended driving range, and faster charging capabilities, the automaker said. The enhancements follow similar powertrain updates recently introduced on the European Ford Explorer EV and Ford Capri EV.
Both Courier models now feature an increase in usable battery capacity from 43 kWh to 46 kWh. The change delivers an approximately 11% improvement in range, raising the E-Tourneo Courier’s maximum driving distance to about 320 kilometres on a single charge and the E-Transit Courier’s to around 334 kilometres.

Charging performance has also improved. Using a 100 kW DC fast charger, the E-Tourneo Courier can gain roughly 112 kilometres of range in 10 minutes, while the E-Transit Courier can add about 114 kilometres over the same period. Both models can charge from 10% to 80% in about 26 minutes under optimal conditions. On an 11 kW AC charger, the same charging window takes approximately three hours and five minutes.
In addition to battery upgrades, the E-Transit Courier receives a new 5G modem to support enhanced connectivity. Ford has also introduced an updated Driver Alert System capable of detecting signs of drowsiness, distraction, sudden illness, or impaired driving, aiming to improve safety for commercial operators.

To support charging accessibility, Ford recently partnered with Electroverse to provide customers with access to more than one million public charging points across Europe. Drivers can locate and use compatible chargers through the Ford mobile app or the vehicle’s infotainment system.
The upgrades are intended to strengthen Ford’s position in the European light commercial electric vehicle market by improving usability for both business customers and passenger transport applications.
