Mazda Motor Corporation has announced UK pricing and specifications for the all-electric Mazda6e, which will arrive in showrooms this summer with a starting price below £40,000.
The model will be offered in two trim levels, Takumi and Takumi Plus, with the higher specification variant priced at £39,995. For the UK market, Mazda has streamlined the European powertrain line-up to a single 78 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery. On the continent, the Mazda6e debuted with 68.8 kWh LFP and 80 kWh nickel manganese cobalt (NMC) battery options.

According to Mazda, the 78 kWh LFP battery delivers a combined WLTP range of up to 348 miles. The rear-wheel-drive powertrain produces 190 kW and 290 Nm of torque, enabling a 0–62 mph acceleration time of 7.9 seconds. DC fast charging from 10% to 80% can be completed in 24 minutes at speeds of up to 195 kW.
The decision to standardise the UK model with an LFP battery avoids the slower charging performance associated with the larger NMC “Long Range” battery offered in some European markets, which charges at up to 90 kW and requires longer charging times. Mazda’s simplified offering is aimed at improving clarity for customers and enhancing overall appeal.

The exterior follows Mazda’s latest “Kodo Soul of Motion” design language, featuring a low roofline, short rear deck and coupe-inspired silhouette. Design highlights include frameless doors, illuminated front signature wings that indicate charging status, a full-width rear light bar and an electronically deployable rear spoiler. Aerodynamically optimised 19-inch wheels are fitted as standard.
Inside, the Mazda6e includes a panoramic roof and floating centre console. The cabin features a 14.6-inch central touchscreen, a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster and an augmented reality head-up display. Boot space measures 336 litres at the rear, complemented by a 72-litre front trunk.

“In the UK we are facing some unique and complex challenges in the balance between EV legislation and consumer demand but at Mazda we will introduce new models and ensure our product range fits the pace of actual consumer demand in the UK,” said Jeremy Thomson, Managing Director of Mazda Motors UK.
The Mazda6e is available to order now, with first customer deliveries expected this summer. Later this year, Mazda plans to expand its UK battery-electric vehicle line-up with the introduction of the Mazda CX-6e.
