MAN Truck & Bus has signed a new framework agreement with European commercial vehicle rental company TIP Group that provides for the delivery of up to 600 trucks per year over a three-year period, including battery-electric models, the companies said.
The agreement covers up to 1,800 vehicles across all weight classes, from 7.5 tonnes to 42 tonnes, and applies to operations in 18 European countries. Financial terms were not disclosed, but MAN said the total value of the deal could reach up to €160 million, depending on the mix of vehicles and models ordered.

In addition to conventional diesel trucks, the contract also includes battery-electric vehicles, reflecting growing demand for low- and zero-emission solutions in freight transport. MAN’s current electric portfolio focuses on the 12- to 42-tonne segment, with claimed ranges of up to 310 kilometres for the eTGL and as much as 830 kilometres for the heavy-duty eTGX and eTGS models, enabled by the company’s modular battery system.
“With the new framework agreement, MAN Truck & Bus and TIP Group are sending a strong signal for the future of freight transport,” said Friedrich Baumann, executive board member for sales and customer solutions at MAN Truck & Bus. “This agreement underscores the trust in our products and services and shows how we are jointly driving the transformation of the industry forward.”

Amsterdam-based TIP Group operates a fleet of more than 90,000 vehicles, including trucks, trailers, refrigerated units and specialist equipment, supported by a network of 135 service locations in 17 countries. The company has been expanding its zero-emission offerings and in 2024 became the first rental provider to deploy a significant number of MAN eTGX electric long-haul trucks.
“Supporting customers through the transition means offering the right solutions at the right time,” said Arjen Kraaij, chief executive of TIP Group. “By working closely with partners like MAN, we can expand our fleet with both highly efficient diesel trucks and electric trucks, giving operators practical choices that balance performance, cost efficiency and sustainability.”
The agreement comes as European transport operators face increasing regulatory pressure to reduce emissions, while still requiring flexibility in fleet composition to manage costs and operational needs.
