Arcfox, the electric vehicle unit of Beijing Automotive Group (BAIC Group), on Tuesday rolled out the 2026 Kaola S electric SUV in China, offering standard lithium iron phosphate batteries from CATL and lowering the model’s entry price.
The 2026 Kaola S is available in three variants — Air, Pro and Max — priced at 99,800 yuan ($14,310), 109,800 yuan and 119,800 yuan, respectively. The new starting price marks a reduction of 10,000 yuan, or about 9.1%, from the previous generation’s entry level, Arcfox said.

All three versions are equipped with CATL’s LFP battery packs, providing a driving range of 520 kilometres under China’s CLTC test cycle. The model supports fast charging, with the battery able to recharge from 30% to 80% in about 26 minutes.
The Kaola S measures 4,500 mm in length, 1,870 mm in width and 1,675 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,820 mm. It is powered by a permanent magnet synchronous motor producing a maximum output of 150 kilowatts and peak torque of 255 Newton metres, enabling acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.5 seconds.

Inside, the vehicle features a 15.6-inch high-definition central touchscreen, with cabin systems powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8155 chip.
Arcfox positions the Kaola S against compact electric models such as BYD’s Yuan Plus, Chery’s iCar 03 and Volkswagen’s ID.3 in China’s highly competitive EV market.

The brand, one of China’s earlier entrants into electric vehicles, has struggled to gain traction in recent years. Arcfox has taken steps to revive sales, including the launch of the low-priced T1 compact EV in September and the updated Alpha T5 SUV in October 2025, which expanded the lineup to include extended-range electric vehicle variants alongside battery-electric models.
