Daimler Truck is restructuring the distribution of its Fuso brand in Europe, appointing the Emil Frey Group as the general distribution partner for Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC) in 21 European countries, including Germany, France and Poland.
Under the new arrangement, Emil Frey will take over sales, aftersales and service operations for Fuso trucks in the selected markets. The move forms part of the broader integration of the Fuso and Hino brands under a new holding company, Archion, which is scheduled to begin operations on April 1, 2026.

Fuso currently operates in 32 European countries, with around 800 service points embedded within the Mercedes-Benz service network, primarily supporting sales and servicing of the Canter light-duty truck. Daimler Truck said the restructuring would not reduce market coverage, stressing that “light-duty trucks from the Fuso brand will continue to be available in all current European markets,” including the battery-electric eCanter.
The partnership with Emil Frey spans a wide geographic footprint, covering Germany, France, Poland, Austria, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Hungary and several countries in southern and southeastern Europe. Daimler Truck said the new distribution model is intended to strengthen Fuso’s position in the European light-duty truck segment and support the transition toward low- and zero-emission transport.

“Mitsubishi FUSO is providing light duty commercial vehicles, produced in our plant in Tramagal, Portugal, for our European customer since 1980,” said Andreas Deuschle, head of Fuso International Sales and Customer Services. “The partnership with Emil Frey brings together two strong players in the European truck market.”
Gerhard Schürmann, chief executive of the Emil Frey Group, said the agreement would expand the companies’ long-standing cooperation. “Emil Frey’s strong customer focus and deep market expertise, combined with FUSO’s innovative and sustainable products and outstanding quality, will enable us to deliver the best possible service,” he said.

The distribution overhaul comes as Daimler Truck and Toyota move forward with plans to merge Mitsubishi Fuso and Hino Motors under Archion, while keeping both brands operationally independent. The companies aim to develop shared vehicle platforms and streamline development, procurement and production to unlock cost savings and accelerate innovation, particularly in electrification and hydrogen technologies.
Mitsubishi Fuso already markets the electric eCanter in Europe, while Hino is developing battery-electric and fuel-cell trucks for global markets. Daimler Truck has said the combined group aims to deliver “market-leading products” across zero-emission truck segments as regulatory pressure on commercial vehicle emissions intensifies.
