Rivian has not yet delivered their electric vehicles to customers in Canada. But Rivian has already begun planning to build its service network north of the border starting in British Columbia.
Rivian through company spokeswoman Laura Weston has started recruiting workers for the first Service Center in Vancouver.
On Rivian’s careers page, there are job vacancies in Vancouver for the position of Manager, Field Service. In the job description, the accepted candidate will “lead and manage all local operations in the field.”
Additionally the manager will “build a strong team of customer-centric Mobile/Service Technicians, Service Advisors and Parts Advisors.”
Weston said the service centers will provide more than just vehicle service as they “will be part of our delivery experience as well as host customer events.”
Rivian previously promised deliveries to customers in Canada last year. The recent filing of a Form 10-K published last month suggests the automaker hopes to apply for certification from Transport Canada to sell their vehicles by September 2022.
