Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Limited (TPEML), the passenger EV division of Tata Motors, has launched 14 manned Tata.ev MegaCharger stations across India as part of its strategy to make EV charging more accessible and familiar to drivers. The company has collaborated with charging operator Voltran to establish what it describes as the country’s first manned public charging sites.
India’s fuel retail network is largely manned, and TPEML aims to replicate that experience for EV owners to smooth the transition from combustion vehicles. The new charging sites operate 24 hours a day and offer on-site assistance along with amenities such as Wi-Fi, lounges, cafés, and restaurants. Payments can be made by cash, card, or UPI after charging, echoing the process used at conventional fuel stations.

Most of the new Tata.ev MegaChargers are located in the southern states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. In Hyderabad, the capital of Telangana, TPEML and Voltran have opened a charging facility equipped with 12 bays and a total installed capacity of 360 kW.
Additional installations have been set up along major travel corridors. Two new sites on the Hyderabad–Bengaluru highway—one in Beechupalli (Telangana) and one in Anantapur (Andhra Pradesh)—feature six charging connectors each. Another station on the Hyderabad–Vijayawada highway in Suryapet offers 10 charging points and 240 kW capacity, accompanied by lounges, eateries, and restrooms.

Three more MegaChargers are positioned on routes linking Hyderabad and Tirupati, located in Mydukur (Andhra Pradesh), Miryalaguda (Telangana), and Tirupati. An additional three sites have been deployed along the Vijayawada–Chennai highway in Kaza, Ongole, and Nellore, all within Andhra Pradesh.
The remaining four stations are situated along the Srikakulam–Vishakhapatnam–Vijayawada highway, with locations in Srikakulam, Gannavaram, Rajanagaram, and Anakapalle. With this expansion, Tata’s MegaCharger network now spans more than 70 sites across India. TPEML plans to increase this figure to 500 stations nationwide by 2027.
