Ford has again received a large order from Penske Truck Leasing for its E-Transit electric van in the US. For this order, Penske Truck Leasing will get 750 Ford E-Transit to be rented out to its customers.
The first units will be delivered to Southern California in the coming weeks. Deliveries will be made in stages until the end of this year
“We are very pleased to be able to help bring this new vehicle to market as a rental and full service option for our customers,” said Art Vallely, president of Penske Truck Leasing. “We continue to expand and diversify our electric vehicle fleet and offer new options for customers seeking more sustainable options in terms of transportation.”
The 750 E-Transit ordered was the initial plan of Penske Truck Leasing’s original plan to add electric vehicle units to their leasing network in the United States.
Previously, Walmart had also ordered 1,100 units of the Ford E-Transit in January. DHL Express will also introduce 270 E-Transit as its delivery fleet in the UK this summer.
Previously, Ford had just started producing the E-Transit in Kocaeli, Turkey with local partners.
Penske Truck Leasing is headquartered in Reading, Pennsylvania. Penske Truck Leasing has a fleet of over 372,000 vehicles – not only in North America, but also in South America, Europe, Australia and Asia.
