bp pulse has opened a new electric vehicle charging hub located 1.5 miles from Houston’s William P. Hobby Airport, marking a key milestone in its U.S. network expansion and deepening its partnership with Hertz to support airport and rideshare electrification.
The site features 40 ultrafast DC fast-charging bays capable of delivering up to 150 kW, designed to serve airport travelers, rideshare drivers, and local EV owners. Amenities include covered canopies and free Wi-Fi, with a promotional charging rate of $0.01 per kWh available on November 12, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. CT.
“This is another example of how we’re meeting EV drivers and ride-hailing fleets where they are,” said Sujay Sharma, CEO of bp pulse Americas. “Across metro and airport locations like this one, we’re expanding access to convenient, reliable charging.”
The new hub continues bp pulse’s collaboration with Hertz, following similar projects at Los Angeles International Airport, San Francisco International Airport, and Boston Logan International Airport. “As our rideshare drivers often turn to EVs, having fast, reliable charging near key locations like Hobby Airport makes a real difference,” said Doria Holbrook, Executive Vice President of Mobility at Hertz.
Beyond standalone sites, bp pulse is integrating charging into its broader U.S. retail network, which includes bp, Amoco, ampm, Thorntons, and TravelCenters of America. The company has also announced a partnership with Waffle House to deploy chargers at select restaurant locations beginning in 2026. With more than 40,000 charge points worldwide, bp pulse continues to expand its U.S. footprint to support the growing number of electric and hybrid vehicles on the road.
