Indian cold supply chain solutions provider Celcius Logistics said it will expand its electric vehicle fleet by adding 350 electric reefer trucks, as part of a new business vertical called “Celcius Green” dedicated to sustainable logistics.
The company, which claims to be India’s first large-scale operator of electric reefer trucks, has already deployed 100 units and aims to roll out the remaining 250 vehicles by March 2026. The initiative follows a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Switch Mobility, a manufacturer of electric buses and light commercial vehicles, to supply the new trucks.

Celcius Logistics said it will invest one billion rupees (around €9.8 million) to procure the vehicles, build related charging and parking infrastructure, and train drivers. The electric fleet will initially serve New Delhi, before expanding to Mumbai and Hyderabad, supporting last-mile delivery of temperature-sensitive products such as dairy, pharmaceuticals, frozen foods, fruits, and seafood.
“With Celcius Green, we’re taking a big step towards making cold logistics cleaner, smarter, and more future-ready,” said Swarup Bose, founder and CEO of Celcius Logistics. Switch Mobility CEO Ganesh Mani added, “This first and largest 3.5-tonne EV reefer order in India showcases how sustainability and efficiency can go hand in hand.”

Switch Mobility’s IeV4 model, selected for the project, is a 3.5-tonne electric truck with a payload capacity of 1.75 tonnes, powered by a 32.2 kWh LFP battery and a 60 kW permanent magnet synchronous motor delivering 230 Nm of torque. The vehicle has a top speed of 80 km/h and can climb gradients of up to 22 per cent, offering an ARAI-certified range of 206 km, with an expected real-world range of around 130 km.
Celcius Logistics said the move aligns with its broader goal to decarbonise India’s cold chain sector and strengthen operational efficiency through cleaner mobility solutions.
