Legacy EV, a provider of electric vehicle education, has partnered with workforce development company SmarterHelp to introduce a joint training solution for the EV industry. The program offers specialized certification pathways for both vehicle systems and charging equipment, targeting the growing demand for skilled technicians.
The bundled program will be available to educational institutions and workforce organizations nationwide starting in Q1 2026. Mavrick Knoles, President of Legacy EV, said, “The EV revolution depends on people as much as technology, and this partnership provides a clear path to meaningful careers.”
The program begins with a foundational course covering electrical theory, high-voltage safety, and charging systems. Learners can then specialize in one of two tracks: the EV Technician Pathway, focusing on vehicle diagnostics and battery management, or the EVSE Technician Pathway, which emphasizes charging station commissioning and maintenance.
Kianna Scott, CEO of SmarterHelp, noted that the initiative aims to make green jobs “accessible to all communities.” The partnership addresses a growing skills shortage in the EV sector, projected to be a significant driver of clean-energy job growth in the United States over the coming decade.
